Furnace Village Shop and Post Office plays an important role within our village. It’s a place to catch up with friends and neighbours as well as picking up your newspaper, your eggs, a warm bacon butty or to post a parcel.
For 18 years the shop was run, before their well earned retirement, by Mike and Syb Masters. In 2019 the village successfully raised necessary funds, via various grants, to buy the shop and the accompanying bungalow. The shop and bungalow is now owned by Furnace SCIO and run and managed by David and Cindy who not only provide essentials 7 days a week but offer a substantial and tempting take-away menu too.
